About Us

Founded in 2013, Sangam Arts is a 501(c)3 non-profit that provides an innovative platform for artists from diverse backgrounds to come together to collaborate and co-create world-class music and dance performances. Using a wide range of cultural and artistic expressions from Folklorico and Tap to Kathak and Hula, our presentations are carefully curated to that help us see our common humanity while allowing us to celebrate the traits that make us unique.

Our unique approach and reputation for quality programming have helped us gain support grantors and foundations such as Office of Cultural Affairs, City of San Jose, SVCreates and Knight Foundation.

Mosaic America is a grassroots initiative founded by Sangam Arts and focused on strengthening rapidly diversifying communities across US through multicultural collaborative arts.

Meet our Team

Usha Srinivasan (President)

Usha is a trained Bharatanatyam (Classical Indian) dancer and passionate about using the arts to strengthen community. She is a Kinght Foundation Creative Community Fellow (2016-17) and a member of Multicultural Arts Leadership Institute (MALI) Cohort (2015-16) in San Jose. She has served on the Board of World Arts West, the producer of the famous San Francisco Ethnic Dance Festival, on City of Santa Clara’s Cultural Commission and on the board of Wildlife Rescue, Palo Alto.

In addition to managing Sangam Arts, Usha leads Impact Strategy for Women in STEM (WiSTEM) – an initiative of MKF that helps empower girls and women in STEM fields. She also runs a consulting practice providing product strategy and marketing services to high tech companies in Silicon Valley. She holds a Masters degree in Electrical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY and an MBA from Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business.

Priya Das (Program Director)

Priya is VP – Programming Strategy and co-founder of Sangam’s Mosaic Silicon Valley initiative. She is the creator of Mosaic’s inspired framework for arts and social collaboration for community-building and drives creative vision, programming strategy, artist relations, and community outreach for physical and virtual. In addition to being an arts critic and columnist, Priya is trained in the Hawaaiin/ Slide Guitar, Indian classical Bharatanatyam and Carnatic vocal, and has familiarity with Spanish Flamenco. She works as a Project Manager at an international eCommerce company in Silicon Valley and is an alumna of Multicultural Arts Leadership Institute (MALI) and SVCreates’ MindShare program. Priya holds degrees in Business and Computer Science.
